Zombie Attack

Objective:
In Zombie Attack, the objective is for the humans (survivors) to avoid being "infected" by the zombies. Zombies must try to tag the survivors to turn them into zombies. Survivors can fight back with foam swords, and archers can assist by shooting from the sidelines.
Setup:
Players:
Zombies: At the start of the game, select a few players to be the zombies (e.g., 1 or 2 zombies at the beginning of the game). Zombies can "infect" survivors by tagging them with their foam swords.
Survivors: The rest of the players start as survivors. Survivors have foam swords to defend themselves and can try to avoid getting tagged by zombies.
Play Area:
Designate a large, open playing area where players can move freely. The area should have clearly marked boundaries to prevent players from leaving the zone.
If desired, you can set up safe zones where survivors can temporarily hide to avoid being tagged. These zones should have a time limit for how long survivors can stay there.
Equipment:
Foam Swords: All survivors and zombies must use foam swords.
Optional Bows: Archers on the sideline can shoot foam-tipped arrows at zombies or survivors to assist in the game.
Hit Points: Each player (human or zombie) has 2 hit points. Zombies lose 1 hit point each time they are hit by a foam sword or bow arrow, and survivors lose 1 hit point when tagged by a zombie. Players can take two hits before being eliminated or "infected."
Game Rules:
Hit Points:
Survivors: Each survivor starts with 2 hit points. They lose 1 hit point when tagged by a zombie or shot by an archer’s arrow.
Zombies: Zombies also have 2 hit points. They lose 1 hit point when hit by a foam sword or a bow shot.
A player is eliminated (or "infected" in the case of survivors) after receiving 2 hit points worth of damage.
Infection (Zombies Tagging Survivors):
When a zombie tags a survivor with their foam sword, the survivor loses 1 hit point.
If a survivor loses both hit points (after being tagged twice), they are "infected" and turn into a zombie.
Infected survivors can join the zombie team and start tagging other survivors to continue the spread of infection.
Respawn:
Survivors: Once eliminated, survivors must go to a designated respawn point and wait for 20 seconds before they can rejoin the game. Once their respawn time is up, they return with 2 hit points.
Zombies: Zombies who are eliminated (either by getting hit with a foam sword or a bow shot) must also go to the respawn point for 20 seconds before returning to the game as a zombie. Zombies must remain zombies after respawning (they can't turn back into survivors).
Optional Bow Fire:
Archers stationed on the sideline can shoot foam-tipped arrows at players (either zombies or survivors).
Each successful bow hit reduces the hit points of the target by 1. Zombies lose 1 hit point if they are hit by a bow arrow. Survivors lose 1 hit point if hit by a bow.
Archers have a limited number of arrows (e.g., 5 arrows per half), and once they run out, they must wait until the next half to shoot more arrows.
Bow shots should be aimed at the body or limbs of players and should not be aimed at the head for safety.
Game Time:
The game is played in two 15-minute halves.
A half-time break of about 5 minutes is allowed to regroup and strategize.
At the start of each half, the teams reset with survivors and zombies respawning if necessary.
Winning the Game:
The game ends when either all survivors are infected or the time runs out.
If all survivors are infected, the zombies win.
If time runs out, the game is declared a draw unless all survivors have been infected. The team with the most remaining survivors at the end of the game may be considered the winner if using points.
If there is a designated safe zone, survivors who make it to the safe zone at the end of the game without being infected can win for their team.
General Conduct:
No excessive force is allowed. Players should lightly tap others with foam swords to ensure safety.
Players must stay within the game boundaries at all times. Leaving the area results in immediate elimination.
Headshots are prohibited. Players must avoid striking others in the head and aim for the body, arms, or legs.
Safety Guidelines:
Foam Sword Safety:
Ensure all foam swords used in the game are safe, soft, and lightweight. There should be no sharp edges or hard parts.
Players must avoid swinging too aggressively to prevent injury.
Headshots:
Headshots are not allowed. All hits should be to the torso, arms, or legs. This ensures the game remains safe for all players.
Bow and Arrow Safety:
Only foam-tipped arrows should be used.
Archers must aim for the torso or limbs. Do not aim for the head or face to avoid injury.
Archers must ensure they have a clear shot and should not shoot when another player is too close to the target.
Play Area Safety:
Ensure the play area is clear of obstacles or hazards (e.g., rocks or sharp objects) that could cause players to trip or injure themselves.
Players should be cautious when running to avoid accidents.
This Zombie Survival game format with foam swords, hit points, respawn time, optional bow fire, and two 15-minute halves adds an exciting, strategic element where players must work together to survive or infect others. The added element of archery gives the game a layer of tactical depth, allowing for more dynamic gameplay!
