The Apocalypse Has Arrived!

Zombies have taken over the world, and the last survivors are scattered across the wasteland. You and your group must work together to complete vital missions, gather resources, and defeat the undead to escape to a safe zone. Armed with foam swords and shields, you’ll fight off zombies, solve cryptic puzzles, and strategize your way through dangerous scenarios to stay alive.

Game Overview:

• Ages: 10 and up

• Duration: 2 hours (adjustable based on group size and energy level)

• Location: Ideal for outdoor spaces such as parks, large backyards, or open fields.

• Players: 6-20 participants (adjustable for group size)

Quest Details:

1. The Starting Point:

• The group begins at a safe zone (a designated starting area). The game master (event host) will explain the mission: the world is overrun by zombies, and your group is the last hope for humanity. You must find the cure, gather essential resources, and survive long enough to escape the apocalypse.

Quest Flow:

**1. Quest #1: Scavenger Hunt for Supplies

• Objective: The group needs to locate hidden supplies to survive the zombie apocalypse—food, water, and medical kits.

• Challenge: The supplies are scattered in various places, and the group will need to solve puzzles to uncover their locations. For example:

  • Puzzle Example: Decoding a map or a series of locked boxes with hidden combination codes or clues that lead to the next clue.

  • As players search, they may encounter zombie NPCs (played by staff or other participants) who will try to “tag” them and send them back to the safe zone for a brief timeout.

  • Zombies: Players can temporarily stun zombies by hitting them with their foam swords or shields. However, the zombies will respawn after a set time and come after the players again!

2. Quest #2: Fortify the Base

• Objective: The group must fortify a “safe house” from the zombies while gathering more resources to move to the next phase.

• Challenge: Players must defend a designated area (a “fortified base”) while solving a puzzle that unlocks the next phase of the quest.

  • Puzzle Example: Use clues to find keys that unlock boxes containing resources or weapon upgrades (more foam swords, shields, or magical “items”).

  • While defending the base, zombies will periodically approach, requiring the players to use their foam sword fighting skills to fend them off. Players must work together to protect their base!

3. Quest #3: The Cure

• Objective: The group has learned about a potential cure for the zombie infection, but the ingredients are scattered across the wasteland.

• Challenge: To complete the cure, players need to retrieve multiple ingredients from different locations. The ingredients are hidden in challenging puzzle areas and guarded by zombies.

  • Puzzle Example: Solve a logic puzzle to unlock a “supply crate” with a cure ingredient, or engage in a memory challenge where they must match symbols or numbers to find hidden locations.

  • Combat Challenge: Zombies will guard certain locations, and the group must fight off waves of zombies using their foam swords to gain access to the cure ingredients.

4. Quest #4: Escape to Safety

• Objective: With the cure in hand, the group must make their way to a secret safe zone to escape the apocalypse and survive.

• Challenge: The final mission involves navigating a maze or obstacle course while completing riddles or finding hidden keys that unlock the escape route.

  • Zombie Horde: As they approach the safe zone, the players will face one last massive wave of zombies. Using their foam swords and shields, the group must fight their way to safety, solving final puzzles along the way to open the last barrier.

  • Final Puzzle Example: A word puzzle or codebreaker that opens the safe zone gate.
